Description

This historical single vineyard of the Chinon A.O.C. planted on highly calcareous and clayey soil, is located on the Left Bank of the Vienne River, on a small North-East facing slope.

The Clos de la Dioterie  very old wines, 80 years old, offer rich and complex wines, structured for a long cellar keeping.

"The nose, while seemingly austere at first, rapidly starts to read of a medley of black fruits (blackberries, blackcurrant...) and hints of pepper.

The structure is ample, full, with aromas of licorice and kirsch, supported by a beautiful minerality.

La Dioterie reveals a very precise mineral structure and it originates from both its very old vines and its northeasterly facing clay-limestone terroir...

Regarding the 2011, which is still a litlle closed, grant it a few sagely years in the cellar to fully reveal itself." March 2013
