Description

Clos du Chêne Vert  is one of Chinon’s most legendary sites, actually located in the town itself, on the right bank of the Vienne.

The very steep slope of the small two-hectare south-west facing vineyard and its clay and silico-calcareous soil explains why it is one of the oldest "crus" (growths) of the appellation.

The 35 year old, Clos du Chêne Vert  vines, offer long keeping and elegant wines.

"The noze opens with freshness and aromas of cherries in "brandy" (eau de vie), and prunes.

Completely generous, this limestone-clay single-vineyard with a South-West exposure, offers a delicate wine in the mouth with spicy notes and roundness; full of softness with an airy elegance.

Still ageing in French oak, it will need time to fully reveal itself, be patient !" March 2013.
